Sunday 31st March 2019
4 Cancer Group is once again delighted to be working with the River Thames Boat Project to provide a Family Afloat Day weekend full of adventure and fun. These events are for anyone who wants to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of time on the water without the rock and roll of the sea. The River Thames Boat Project operates the Thames Venturer, a historic Dutch Barge and the Thames Discoverer, a river cruiser, each can take up to 12 passengers. Our Family Afloat Days offer the opportunity to meet others and share the fun of cruising on the inland waterways.
These trips are for families who have been affected by cancer. The day starts at around 10.30am and returns at 5pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on board. Tea and cakes will also be provided on your return and we ask that all participants spare half an hour at the end of the day to tell us about their experience. This will help us with funding future events for other families. Each trip will have a professional skipper and crew onboard, though everyone will have the opportunity to get involved with all aspects on board. Learn to helm and operate locks.
you must make your own travel to and from the venue in Kingston, Surrey.
