We are thrilled to be offering another special stay at an ARC property in association with Finest Retreats.
Converted from a Grade II listed former water tower, ARC Thorpeness is a bold reimagining of one of Suffolk’s most distinctive coastal buildings. Sleeping 20, it’s perfect for large groups of family or friends. Enjoy panoramic views from all sides of the astonishing 5th floor living room or relax in the Mediterranean garden with outdoor pool, wood-fired hot tub and alfresco kitchen.
Set on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and developed as an exclusive resort in Edwardian times, Thorpeness has all the facilities you’d expect from a fantasy holiday destination plus plenty more surprises. Delight in the mock Tudor village and fairy tale ‘house in the clouds’, or boat on the 60-acre manmade lake and indulge your literary side exploring islands named from the Peter Pan stories. ARC Thorpeness is positioned remarkably well in the centre of the village. Just minutes beyond the gates lie the beach, tennis courts and rowing boats on the Meare.
A private, landscaped garden wraps around a heated pool and outdoor kitchen—complete with pizza oven, grill, and a long dining table beneath a modern pergola. Whether you’re gathering for firelit feasts, swimming under wide Suffolk skies, or finding quiet in a deck chair, this space is designed for rest and reconnection. At the heart of the house is a state-of-the-art kitchen, fully equipped with Miele appliances, four ovens, two hobs, two dishwashers, and a wine fridge. A generous island makes it the perfect space to gather, while huge dining tables indoors and out invite guests to linger over food, stories, and wine. For those who prefer cooking under open skies, the alfresco kitchen is complete with a premium pizza oven, South African-style Braai, and long dining table beneath a modern pergola.
The interiors are designed for relaxation and togetherness, with a cinema snug, yoga studio in the lounge, and panoramic views throughout. Seven bedrooms feature luxurious Super-King beds, which can also be arranged as twin singles, ensuring maximum flexibility for every group.
