A gorgeous cosy cottage for friends, family, and the dog in Borth-y-Gest, overlooking the bay and estuary beyond. Stroll down to the beach, local cafe and deli, or join the footpath to the coastal town of Porthmadog, just 1 mile away, with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the pretty harbour. Porthmadog is the starting point of both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways; why not board a steam train for a scenic journey? From your door, explore the coastal path to find a string of glorious sandy beaches. Portmeirion, the Italianate village that is home to the TV show “The Prisoner” and many cultural events, is 5 miles away. Activities on hand include swimming, sailing, surfing and canoeing, walking, cycling and golf. Snowdonia National Park is a short drive away, offering plenty of adventure in its magnificent mountains and forests. This is a year-round destination.
