Gilwern is a sweet village with pubs, shops and a picturesque canal all within walking distance. It sits on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and Blaenavon World Heritage site and you can enjoy country walks right from your doorstep or perhaps take a visit to the historic town of Abergavenny full of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Visit nearby galleries, museums, castles and vineyard or take a trip on a narrow boat which you can see passing by at the bottom of the garden! Other attractions in the area include Blaenavon Iron Works, The Big Pit or star gazing at the Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre or why not try horse riding, golf, climbing and kayaking on the Usk and Wye.

Enter through the stable door into the hallway which leads straight into the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Located off the hallway is the master bedroom which is light and airy and has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as a twin on request). There is a bathroom with shower and WC. Head from the kitchen to the comfortable, traditionally furnished lounge where you can relax on the sofa in front of the wood burner effect electric fire and watch the Smart TV or a movie on the DVD and head out to the garden through the French doors.

Outside there is an enclosed covered veranda, with hot tub, gas BBQ and garden furniture looking out to the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Relax  in the hot tub with the most amazing view  and unwind whatever the weather. Bring a BBQ and the owners are happy for you to use it within the extensive grounds. Being situated in a Dark Skies Area, the veranda is perfect for star gazing on a clear night! Beyond this are large shared grounds that lead all the way down to the canal. Private off-road parking and secure covered area for bikes available. There is an exercise paddock available for dogs.
