Why run for our charity?

We are a small, family founded and run charity that supports people affected by cancer and cancer poverty.

Every penny of every pound you raise goes directly to help us give more families ‘Something To Look Forward To’

How we will support you

  • Once you have secured a place with us, we will register you with the event for one of our charity places.
  • We will help you set up your personalised online fundraising page with ‘GivenGain’
  • Offer you support with your fundraising before, during and after the event.
  • Provide you with a charity running shirt & ‘recovery’ bag.
  • Provide refreshments at our marquee in the event village.
  • Join us all after the event at the Tivoli Pub for drinks, food and a chance to celebrate your achievement with other runners in our VIP area.

1. Obtaining places in the Cambridge Half Marathon requires an investment from our charity of more than double the cost of a normal ballot place. By applying for a charity place you agree to meet the minimum sponsorship amount of £300.

2. Gift Aid is in addition to the minimum sponsorship amount and is not counted towards the sponsorship target of £300.

3. The fundraising milestones include – setting up your fundraising page and receiving your first donation within a week of registration (don’t worry… we will help you with this), reaching at least £150 raised by 11th January, and during the final event month raising a total of at least £250.

4. All monies raised must be through GivenGain, our sponsorship partners. If a deficit to the minimum sponsorship amount of £300 remains after this time, STLFT may work with you to address the shortfall. STLFT may contact you and require you to pay the difference if no resolution is reached, and the minimum sponsorship has not been met

Corporate team running places

The number of places you can reserve for your staff is really up to you. 5 places (£750) … 10 places (£1,500) … 20 places (£3,000) … as many as you wish.

This Corporate Package will include:

  • Your logo (should you wish) will be promoted continuously across all our social media and eNewsletters promoting the Cambridge Half Marathon 2026
  • Your logo will appear on our running shirts
  • Your logo will appear on our flags within the event village
  • The entry place for the runner will be free
  • Runners each receive a goody bag containing charity branded running shirt, water bottle, STLFT medal (more sought after than Blue Peter badges!!!), STLFT car sticker, and other goodies to build their strength back up.
  • We help set up personalised runners sponsorship pages where people can make their donations like this page.

From your runners we ask them to raise a minimum sponsorship of  £300 (excluding gift aid).

Corporate sponsorship for the race day

Apart from taking places, we also have the sponsorship opportunity to cover the costs of our running shirts and other goodies which would be £2,500. This would give your logo prominent visibility on our running shirts and further publicity across all our SM and other marketing.
