Classic British Hotels

Classic British Hotels are delighted to be able to support a fantastic charity, ‘Something To Look Forward To’, which was set up by a couple from Cambridge, in 2015, following a terminal breast cancer diagnosis of it’s Co-founder.

The charity supports people affected by cancer and cancer poverty by providing gifts and experiences donated by individuals and companies.

We are looking for venues who would be willing to donate experiences such as overnight stays, meals out or Afternoon Tea.

I was gifted an overnight stay with Sunday lunch via the charity STLFT.

This literally couldn’t have come at a better time for Gill and I! It was like pushing a reset button, ,the hospitality of the hotel was fabulous, the food was amazing, cosy duvets! We both slept like babies! We had a lovely day out in London and felt like the world had been lifted from our shoulders.

I can’t thank the guys enough for this gift, it’s not easy having a diagnosis and juggling life with children and it’s restored our faith in people who just want to be nice and support others living through hard times.

How will it all work?

Experiences gifted in hotels are one of our most sought after gifts and we are extremely grateful for these donations.

These gifts are not allocated on a first come first served basis and are not used in fundraising or for raffle prizes, they go directly to people affected by cancer.

How many nights will our hotel be required to donate?

You can donate as many or as few nights as you wish. If you only have availability for one night during the off-peak season that’s great.

Overnight stays are very popular with breakfast and/or dinner the option for either of these is entirely yours! These experiences give a manageable break, when it’s needed most.

Overnight stays for families are also highly sought after. Where it is important for the whole family to enjoy an experience, what better gift to give than precious memories when they’re needed most.

Dining experience for 2 or a family is very welcome and makes a huge difference just to have a few hours to break from the relentlessness of the cancer journey.

Afternoon Tea – always popular and always appreciated a little luxury in a wonderful setting really does wonders!

We can then discuss your donation in detail and answer any questions you may have.

We will then promote the experience on our website and through our social media. We can also promote the hotel who donated the experience.


  • CRITERIA REGARDING 'COMMERCIALLY LET' PROPERTY GIFTS

    Currently our charity only accepts gifts of properties which are already 'commercially let'.

    Please see below some important points required to meet the charity's conditions for donating a gift of a stay in your 'commercially let' accommodation.
    • The property is fully insured to comply with legal hire requirements: - Buildings - Contents - Public Liability
    • If your property is in Scotland, you must have a Short Term Holiday Let License
    • You agree to donate time in your property without charge (however you may choose to charge a cleaning/laundry fee and/or deposit which is payable by the beneficiary)
    • You agree to contact the applicant with property address via e-mail and liaise accordingly through the booking process (the charity will assist with correspondence)
    • The beneficiary will be responsible for any damage to the property as per the deposit details
    • You agree that there is no restriction to you making the donation of the property
    • The property is fit for purpose of being a holiday let
    • You agree to respect the privacy of the applicant whilst on holiday
