1 week free ‘wild’ camping pitch in the heart of Purbeck. Suitable for one tent of any size or a camper van.

Tent or campervan required!

Suitable for vehicles: 4×4 only (eg Land Rover Defender conversion)

This site backs onto an ancient woodland and overlooks the Swanage Heritage Railway. The steam train passes the site during the day between 10am and 5pm, *PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THIS WHEN BOOKING DOGS AND CHILDREN WILL NEED TO BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES.

Beyond the railway is a view of the Purbeck Downs (Nine Barrow Down), and there are no houses in sight, giving you an endless view of nature ahead. The surrounding ancient woodland (Leeson woods, which is included in the doomsday records) means the site always feels peaceful and close to nature.

Coombe Farm is a working dairy farm, and apart from the cows you are likely to hear deer, owls, foxes & badgers during the evening.

Despite its quiet, secluded feel, the site is only a 5 minute drive away from the heart of Swanage, with its beautiful beaches and excellent attractions. So you’ll get the both of best worlds at this lovely Dorset pitch!

Access is down a track through the woodland which can be wet after rain and a little bumpy, so this site is for 4WD campers only. Parking is on grass.

Please note the proximity of the rail track in relation to the field, when booking this experience, children and dogs must be supervised at all times.

No kitchen facilities, shower, or electric hook up. There is a portaloo and running water.
