2x In person tickets to Irvine Welsh | Men in Love Sat 22 Nov | 8:00pm: Old Divinity School, Cambridge.

When Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting burst onto the scene in 1993, it became an instant classic and a cultural phenomenon, capturing the raw energy and chaos of a generation. Now, more than 30 years on, Welsh returns to the world of Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie in the long-awaited sequel, Men in Love.

It is the late 1980s, the dying days of Thatcher’s Britain, and the Trainspotting crew are leaving heroin behind. Separated after a drug deal gone wrong, they search for new ways to feel alive: through sex, romance, ambition and the pounding rhythms of the rave scene, with its promise of joy and redemption. Sick Boy embarks on an intense relationship with Amanda, a wealthy, connected ‘princess’ who seems to hold the key to a brighter future. But as the 1990s dawn, will love offer salvation, or prove to be just another doomed quest?

Men in Love is riotous, passionate, and blazing with life. Don’t miss this chance to hear one of our greatest literary provocateurs discuss his thrilling new novel.
