How can your Triathlon help bring our services to your area?

Following a diagnosis of incurable breast cancer we set up the charity ‘Something To Look Forward To’.

The charity is run by one family affected by cancer improving the lives of thousands of other families across the UK.

‘Something To look Forward To’ is a multi-award-winning social action charity that improves the lives of people affected by cancer and cancer poverty across the UK. We grant donated ‘gifts’, ‘experiences’ which aim to provide rest, recuperation, enhance a sense of wellbeing and provide opportunities to build positive memories. We also provide ‘essential items’ to those most severely financially affected by their cancer diagnosis including clothes, toiletries and bedding. The charity supports people with any primary cancer diagnosis for one year and those with a secondary or terminal diagnosis on an ongoing basis.

We spend our time researching, identifying and building long lasting relationships with individuals, small businesses, large international and national companies who donate gifts and experiences, therefore cutting down on the running costs of the charity. In return, we advertise all businesses on our website and promote their charitable work on social media at no cost to the individual or company.

As I’m sure you can imagine funding the charity to operate and source gifts and experiences is an ongoing task. One of the ways we fund the work is by setting up local projects which are funded by local people. For example, Sudbury Triathlon club put on a fundraising event for us and raised over £9,000 to set up a project in Suffolk and to reach people affected by cancer and cancer poverty specifically in that geographical area.

Another example can be taken from a similar completed project in Surrey, whereby we received £4,600 and granted gifts and experiences totalling in value over £15,000 of gifts.

If you are interested in supporting us and organising a fundraising event on behalf of your Triathlon Club which would support people affected by cancer and cancer poverty in your area please contact us.
