Event: Devon Marathon Hike
Date of the event: 6th August 2022
26.3 ish gruelling miles through the beautiful Devon countryside with a few stops for refreshment along the way.
This feet (!) of endurance starts in Northlew square at 7:30am. First pub, the Black River Inn in Black Torrington after 12 miles at approx 12 o’clock. then to the Golden Inn before final lunchtime stop at 16 miles in Sheepwash at the Half Moon. Then all the way downhill (ha!) to Hatherleigh at approx 20.5miles and enjoying the Tally & George whilst watching people abseil down the church tower before heading back to Northlew and the Green Dragon. Anyone welcome to join for all or part of the fun. It was mentioned previously if the route could be less hilly, but we are in deepest darkest Devon so the short answer is…. no!
